That's right ... you can catch the Bunnymen in Whitehaven on Friday 8 July when the perform a warm-up gig at the Civic Hall, prior to playing King Tut's tent at T in the Park on Sunday 10 July.
The Bunnymen's dark, swirling fusion of gloomy post-punk and Doors-inspired psychedelia brought the group a handful of British hit singles in the early '80s, attracted a cult following in the United States and influenced nearly two decades worth of bands and songwriters.
Liam Gallagher showed his respect for the band by singing backing vocals on their 1997 hit 'Nothing ever lasts forever', while Coldplay have covered The Bunnymen's 'Lips like Sugar' and site them as a major influence.
Tickets for the show are on sale now, priced at £16.50 and can be purchased by telephone on 01946 852821 or on-line at www.copelandbc.gov.uk.Doors open at 7pm / Show starts 7.30pm aprox. All under 18s MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. |

There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, and we sat in the Korova Milkbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening. The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
